Prof. Akinyemi has 26 years of experience in Academia and is currently a Professor of Demography and Social Statistics at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He also served as Head of the Department of Demography and Social Statistics at Obafemi Awolowo University from 2015 to 2016 before leading administrative positions in the institution. He has 18 Ph/D students and has supervised over 30 masters students.
